Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to revolutionize various aspects of business operations. AI can be used to analyze data and make predictions about demand, optimize logistics and transportation routes, and identify inefficiencies in the supply chain. This can lead to improved responsiveness to changes in demand, reduced lead times, and lower costs. This paper reviews and analyzes the applications of AI in supply chain management (SCM) using the Scopus database. The objective is to address the current research gap of AI’s impact on the performance of SCM, determining the AI techniques that can enhance the performance of SCM, the SCM subfields that have high potential to be enhanced by AI, the impact of AI application on the performance of SCM, and how the performance can be described in agile-lean perspective. Scopus database was utilized to outline and identify the active countries/regions in the field of AI impact on SCM performance, subject area, and type of documents....
In agri-food supply chains (ASC), consumers purchase agri-food goods from farmers. During this process, customers emphasize the need for agri-food safety, while producers hope to enhance their revenues. Due to the dynamism and complexity of the Bangladesh ASC, the traceability and control of agri-food goods encounter formidable obstacles. Due to their reliance on intermediaries, legal financial hurdles, Ethereum-based financial solutions, etc., however, most existing solutions cannot adequately meet the traceability and management needs of Bangladesh ASC. To solve these issues, the authors proposed an integrated Agri-food supply chain (IASC) model. In this study, a systematic review of the literature was conducted using a thematic analysis method. In a portion of the model, the authors depicted a linear physical flow to illustrate the relationship and function of intermediaries and to explain Bangladesh ASC’s dependence on intermediaries. The approach incorporates Blockchain technology and IoT to promote transparency, minimize mistake, prevent product delays, remove unethical and illegal actions, improve supply chain (SC) management, track the whereabouts of the goods, and eventually increase consumer and supplier trust. The article also mentions that crypto currency-based financial transactions between stakeholders in the supply chain are now unlawful in Bangladesh. For blockchain API, a mobile banking and digital payment-based solution has been proposed. Finally, the blockchain- based Hyperledger Sawtooth API has been suggested so that clients can trace the entire history of a product by scanning the QR code on the packaging. Since Bangladesh’s economy is primarily based on agriculture, this research can assist in boosting Bangladesh’s economy. The paper would also contribute to the reduction of corruption and the improvement of firmer/ grower and consumer satisfaction. The findings also pave the way for future studies to implement blockchain technology in ASC without relying on Ethereum- based financial flow solutions....
Based on Bibliometrics and CiteSpace visualization software, relevant research literatures from 2002 to 2022 are retrieved with the topic of emergency logistics, and the scientific knowledge graphs are drawn. Comprehensive analysis and discussion are carried out from multiple dimensions including research time, research subject, research hotspot and research frontier by integrating the graph and data results. The research shows a certain number of active research teams in this field, but the cooperation between them is insufficient. The research institutions in this field are mainly universities and research platforms, but there is also a lack of cross-regional cooperation between them. The emergency logistics network and information construction, the emergency logistics model and system, the emergency management system construction and improvement, the emergency logistics site-path model and the emergency supplies support capability constitute five major research hotspots in this field. It is speculated that the research on pandemic response and improving the intelligent logistics system will become a future research hotspot of this field, providing ideas and references for the follow-up researches....
With the rapid improvement of China’s food industrialization and socioeconomic development level, many specialized food supply chain enterprises have been born in China in recent years, contributing to the development of the food industry and the enrichment of people’s material life. A meta-analysis was conducted to investigate the global impact of COVID-19 on China’s food supply chain. The objective was to explore whether changes in the food supply chain would affect consumer health, food safety, food prices, and food quality. According to statistics, the COVID-19 outbreak has caused an increase in food prices. This study shows that during the period when the outbreak first occurred imports from other countries were restricted. The COVID-19 epidemic has affected vast numbers of farms directly and indirectly and caused considerable losses in China’s market prices. The epidemic has affected the suspension of many industries and businesses, and residents are isolated from their homes. This paper will analyze the impact of COVID-19 on China’s food supply chain and propose corresponding solutions....
The study is designed to understand how adequate logistics management allows being competitive in the pharmaceutical sector. The general objective was to determine the relationship between Logistics Management and Corporate Competitiveness in the pharmaceutical sector. The type of study was basic, quantitative approach, and descriptive correlational scope, using the survey as the technique and the questionnaire as the instrument. The results obtained allowed concluding that there is a direct and moderate relationship between Logistics Management and Corporate Competitiveness where the Pearson coefficient is equivalent to 0.572. Therefore, the better the logistics management, the greater the competitiveness of the company....
